The Office for Life Sciences (OLS) is dedicated to improving the operating environment for the pharmaceutical, medical biotech and medical devices sectors. The Office is comprised of officials from BIS and the Department of Health and is working closely with industry to identify priorities and actions for the long term The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) has responsibility for driving UK innovation. The TSB also advises Government on how to remove barriers to innovation and accelerate the exploitation of new technologies, working in areas where there is a clear potential business benefit, helping today's emerging technologies become the growth sectors of tomorrow. The TSB is an executive non-departmental public body (NDPB), established by the Government in 2007 and sponsored by the BIS.
