Consolidated Puma Minerals Corp.: Continued High Grade Results from East Chuarvi Drilling
Business Wire, Feb 1, 2005 VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Consolidated Puma Minerals Corp. (TSXV:CPW), a 55% owned affiliate of Bema Gold Corporation (TSX:BGO)(AMEX:BGO)(AIM:BAU) is pleased to announce diamond drilling results from the ongoing exploration program on the East Pansky Platinum Group Elements ("PGE") property. East Pansky is located in the Kola Peninsula of northwestern Russia on the eastern border of the Federova Tundra project where Barrick Gold Corporation is currently evaluating an advanced PGE exploration program.
Puma has drilled 73 holes for a total of 13,387 metres on the East Chuarvi target to date. Highlights of the recent drilling results are: P-413 with 5.5 metres grading 11.18 grams per tonne (g/t) PGE + Gold ("Au"), P-417 with 7.1 metres at 4.52 g/t PGE+Au, and P-426 with 2.1 m at 17.88 g/t PGE+Au. The high grade mineralized horizon, which was the focus of a detailed drilling program during 2004, can be traced for at least 35 kilometres along strike and the majority of this horizon has yet to be drill tested. Continuity of mineralization is confirmed across 1,400 metres at East Chuarvi with a high grade core of 600 metres in strike length and to a depth of at least 250 metres. The system remains open along strike and down dip.
Selected results from the recent program are as follows:

Assays are pending from an additional 21 holes at the East Chuarvi target where drilling is ongoing and remains focused on expanding the known mineralized zone along strike and at depth. A further 5,000 to 7,000 metres of diamond drilling is planned in 2005 as well as geological mapping and sampling of the new Kuksha license to the southeast.
It was recently discovered, during re-checking of lab data, that part of the results from hole P-393 were incorrectly reported. The high grade intercept of 20.88 g/t PGE+Au over 0.6 m in drill hole P-393 (reported in news release dated November 22, 2004) was an error due to a mix up of samples at the lab. Following are the results of P-393 including the corrected sample:
------------------------------------------------------------------
From To Length Au Pt Pd PGE+Au
Hole # (m) (m) (m) (g/t) (g/t) (g/t) (g/t)

(i) Corrected Sample
The QA/QC program is set up to prevent lab problems, but samples mixed up are difficult to detect with such a program. This hole is part of a multitude of infill holes drilled in the zone. This ore sample was not material to the program. The other 2 intersections within hole P-393 are still correct.
