4dcoders is a consortium of software companies with a particular interest and experience in developing solutions for use in geosciences and the minerals industry. These solutions include geomechanical and geotechnical modelling, drillhole data processing, database management, exploration statistics and mapping, advanced three-dimensional modelling and visualisation. Each company has been working at the forefront of technological development and pioneering software in the areas of mine blasting, database engineering, drilling and surveying and geological modelling. The members of 4dcoders participate in European funded research and strive to be at the leading edge of technological development in the industry.
Their clients include all sectors of the minerals industry, mining technology suppliers, geological survey organisations, and consulting firms.
Each member of 4dcoders operates as a separate independent business, but has taken a strategic decision to make its products inter-operable, with common interfaces among the members to allow rapid and easy transfer of data among their different applications.
Rockmate has developed innovative solutions for surface mining operations including blast optimisation and shovel production monitoring as a value added reseller. This includes developing software to process raw data from a laser to create a model of a rockface which is to be blasted. The model is used to optimise the explosives used and control environmental discharges such as vibration and fly rock. The software also makes use of point cloud data created from photogrammetry by displaying the cloud in relation to the blast design. Software has been developed to monitor in real time the production from an excavator using radio telemetry and to send out data to supervisors using the GSM network.
GeoMEM both develops and supplies geological and engineering software to the mining, engineering and construction industries. Software development focuses on control applications for industrial devices, in particular, borehole survey instruments and laboratory systems. It includes extensive experience of industrial communications using wired serial, wireless, IR, bluetooth and EtherCAT/CANOpen. Applications cover mathematics, graphics, data analysis, statistics, data export in a range of formats (including bespoke). Development languages include: C#, Visual Basic, C, Pascal on a range of platforms.

VMINE is software developed by Resources Computing International Ltd for a variety of applications. It provides database management applications using the 'open-world' DBMS model more suitable for incomplete data sets instead of the conventional closed-world relational model; it also includes a variety of statistical, graphical, and 2D and 3D modelling applications for geoscience data. VMINE offers interfaces with other software including Datamine, and its interfaces with Geo-Reka include the ability to incorporate individual VMINE programs as elements in the Geo-reka workflow modeller.
